I will take that response as you being overwhelmed by my creativity and ingenuity here.
[ So sarcastic!! ]
We do what we must to not stay idle, hm? I am...not typically one for indulging in such pleasures all the time. Only when the house requires it from us. That leaves more than enough time to take on various projects.
Can't say I blame you for avoiding the House's game. Kinda hard to get around it as much as I'd like to, but as far as things I've had to put up with, it's really not all that bad.
[ It's a few minutes, but Vash lopes back and sets down a cup with a paper holder wrapped around it, the drink steaming from the open hole in the lid. Along with it, he sets down a few packs of sweetener, cream, etc. ]
It's pretty bitter plain, but some people like that.
[ Always curious and eager to try a new drink or food, Zahid holds the cup close to his lips, taking in the strange aroma. The scent of the coffee is strong and alerting, but not bad in any sense. Sort of rustic, like an oven just after it's been used.
With some interest, he takes a sip. Though Vash warns him about the bitterness, he still doesn't expect it when it graces his tongue. The bitterness is so strong that he stops sipping it immediately, frowning into his drink with an expression on his face that could only be disgust.
[ He's already opening a few of the little pots of cream and pouring them in once the cup is placed back down on the table. Some sugar goes in next, and Vash hands the stirring stick to Zahid. ]
Nah, actually. Sometimes I get pinholed into the Plant Technician role, but that's different. Taking care of them is just part of what I should be doing anyway.
I'd like that, actually. If there's one thing I appreciate about this place, it's seeing all sorts of things I couldn't ever imagine back home.
[ He laughs, and this time it's light and airy, more genuine than he often is when he's being social. All the same he has the mind to at least sound a little apologetic when he realizes he's never introduced himself. ]
Right sorry. Vash the Stampede. But just Vash is fine. Hopefully we meet in person sooner than Autumn, though.
[There was something to be said for expanding horizons. He hates to give the Golden Peacock any credit whatsoever but there were some benefits. There were plentiful food, people, and experiences here. It was, for many, a glimpse of a life they never would have dreamed of. Now, if only they weren't so amorous.]
A stampede? Ah, well, I suppose even a desert can have stampeding animals.
[It's a strange choice for a title but he doesn't pry further about its origin or meaning. There were times and places for such things.]
Vash, then. I do tend to stick to my room more often than not... but I'll occasionally walk around the shopping district or Vale to stretch my legs.
[It's nicer to imagine meeting under those circumstances than any of the raucous games.]
The vale though... can't say I blame you. I think I like visiting there the most when I can. It reminds me of the gardens on the ship when I was younger. Sort of, anyway. It's a little more wild.
[ He doesn't want to make this guy do anything Embarrassing but... ]
Could you... skip the rest of the way here then? Feels like cheating to make you double dare.
[ He's going to have to think on that one for a moment. However, whenever Kleken does make it to Heron's Retreat, Vash is already there. It took some doing, perhaps, (mostly because of his rank) to get a spot set up but he's managed it. Currently, idly handling a pair of hair scissors in one hand rather deftly, spinning and catching, while he reads whatever is on his watch. ]
[ Ah, here are the consequences of his stubborn picking of dares. Maybe he should have picked truth after all. And with this being a resort-encouraged activity, lying or cheating his way through the dare would probably go poorly for him... ]
[ He pauses where he stands before settling on what is probably his only way of squirming around this. Maybe. ]

Pet peeve...? I guess I'm not really a fan of when people don't take care of their things.

[ That lines up with the mental picture she's been constructing of him - all rounded edges and thistledown puffs. Kinda endearing if she's right. ]
I'm gonna take a shot in the dark here and guess that you either get saddled with fixing stuff a lot or work in recycling somewhere.
